Dr. Ralph James, distin-, guished Professor of Philos ophy and Religion, has just published the latest of a long series of articles and books on the subject of God and his institutions. Dr. James views God in a conservative light. He supports the tenants of the old Southern Baptist Church. Teamed with Corbitt Rushing, Professor of Political Science and an avid Southern Baptist, Dr. James formulated his latest work. How Tq Permanently Crush Roman Catholicism. Using the tactics devised by the Nazi murderers of World War II, this book pre sents a step by step plan for the destruction of the Catholic Church and all who dare to adhere to its doctrines. Dr. James received financial support for his endeavor from the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. After completing his first draft, Dr. James turned his work over to these support organi zations for their opinions and suggestions. Both groups re ceived the work extremely well and as a result, they have voted a joint award to Dr. James. Dr. James has won an all expense paid week in fabulous Heaven. There he will have the opportunity to Pool On The Way Wesleyan is about to receive its long awaitedswimmingpool. Mr. Howard T, Leibniz has con sented to finance the con struction of a pool complex be side the gymasium. Mr. Leibniz is new to the North Carolina area and es pecially to Wesleyan. Our own Mr. Floyd Sawyer and Mr. Jas per Smith have long been seek- ■ ing new financial supporters. They contacted Mr. Leibniz at his estate in the Austrian Alps. Leibniz consented to visit Wes leyan and after examining the spacious campus, he offered to finance the construction of whatever the students most de* sired. It was the imanimout decision of the student body to construct a chapel but the faculty overrode the decision and requested a swimming pool. Completion of the project should be within six months. talk with his ilol, God, and to frolic in the warm sun and marvel at the ominous Pearly Gates. Dr. James has promised to prsent a public lecture and autograph party at the Crypt, Rocky Mount’s Confederate Tavern. Collins announced last week the pro motion of Mr. Mitchell, pre viously hall wanderer and door locker upper, to the newly cre ated position of Presidential Assistant The new duties of Mr. Mitchell allow little time for snack bar sitting. Mr. Mitchell will assist President Collins in escorting potential donors around the campus and representing the college at those functions which the president is too busy to attend. A special project of the newly-appointed Mr. Mitch ell will be the revival of Wes- leyan’s traditional Covenant Service. Upon being asked his reasons for the selection of Mr. Mitch ell, President Collins had this to say, “I feel that this pro motion is in keeping with some of the promotions seen this year. Further, it is obvious that no finer representative of the true nature of the Wesleyan community can be found. Jt is indeed rare to find such a unique combination of imagi nation, intelligence, and drive as is found in Mr. Mitchell. I expect he might be the spark that will ignite our entire ad ministration.” The promotion of Mr. Mitch ell was strongly opposed by the Board of Trustees. All mem bers feared Mr. Mitchell’s "lean and hungry look”. But then all fish get nervous when the cat is around. It was only with the insistence of Dr. Col lins that the appointment was finally approved WESLEY AN’S MSM Will Hoild A Reorg-anizational Meeting Tomorrow Night At 8:15 In Garber Chapel
